13 November 2016 sermon – Luke 18:18-43 -Losing Out While Obeying the Rules

It’s one thing to tick all the boxes and say you’re a good person who’s “kept all the rules” and assumes to be following Jesus, and yet still be really far away from Him.  To truly walk after Him, it’s so important to stop exalting self and to instead stand before Jesus with an empty hand.  To follow Jesus Christ, it’s as straightforward as “Nothing in my hand I bring; simply to Your cross I cling” (as the hymn goes).  I preached on these themes today in my sermon from Luke 18:18-43 (c.f. Deuteronomy 18:15-22). I also preached this without any written notes!

God bless, Pastor Haydn.
