12 February sermon – Proverbs – Practical Wisdom: Truth & Righteousness

This world has, particularly since the end of World War 2, descended into all sorts of evil through the weakening of social institutions.  Education, human authority, the family (through divorce, and unrestrained sexual licence), the unborn (via abortion), and everything else have come under attack.  These things happened while we were sleeping and they were sold to us as “freedoms”.  Today people love themselves and their own convenience so much that they think that anything attacking their own preferences is an ‘evil’.  Every man is righteous in his own eyes (Judges 17:6) and people call good evil, and evil good (Isaiah 5:20-21).

So how are Christians going to survive this hideous onslaught?  Truth and righteousness will keep us; without them we and our witness in the world are dead. Here is my sermon on these things from Proverbs 3:1-12 and 2 Corinthians 6:1-18.

God bless, Pastor Haydn.
