When God asks one of His prophets to go to the most evil and powerful city in the world – where corpses pile up in the streets – the man runs away without having done business with God. His disobedience brings pain to others and disgraces God’s name, and yet God still loves His servant and wants him to do the job of spreading God’s salvation in the world. Are we also running from God and bringing about disaster, or are we going to surrender, listen, and change? Here is my sermon on this from Jonah 1-2 (c.f. 2 Timothy 2:24-26). My next sermon will be on Jonah 3-4 (c.f. Acts 2:37-41).
God bless, Pastor Haydn.
